SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEK: for Brentwood Catholic Children's Society with the help of the Knights of St Columba.

CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY: This will be held on Friday 4th October. There will be a short talk at the masses on this appeal over the weekend of 28th/29th September.

LINKED PARISH PILGRIMAGE TRIP TO WALSINGHAM: Monday 7th October 2024. The coach will leave Holy Name Church at 7:30am, Our Lady Immaculate at 8am and St Augustine Church at 8:30am. The cost is £20 per person. Please call the Parish Office with any queries.
Pilgrims of Hope 2025 across our Chelmsford Catholic Parish Partnership: As we prepare for the Holy Year 2025 our focus in these coming months is Prayer. The second of our parish prayer talks will be on Thursday 10th October 2024 at 7:30pm in St Augustine Church with the Servite Sisters on "Mary and Prayer".

RCIA AUTUMN: The parish Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults course begins on the 26th September at 7pm-8:30pm. For anyone who is interested in making this journey of faith Programme with the opportunity of being received into full-communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil, please get in touch with the Parish Office and encourage them to come to the first session. FRIENDLY FAMILY GATHERING: Join us for an informal relaxed social evening, chat, snacks and games, for families and young people of our linked parishes. 6.30-8pm Canon Wilson Hall, Holy Name Church, Weds 25th September. KSC ANNUAL LECTURE: Ginny Parry will be speaking about her experience working with refugee children in France, Greece and Iraq. Ginny will be talking about her experiences, including the challenges of working in the camps. She will be speaking at St. John Payne School (Aquinas Hall) on Wednesday 2nd October, at 19.30 (for 19.45). All welcome.

DIVINE MERCY DEVOTIONS: Take place in Holy Name Parish Church after the 7:30pm Mass on Monday 23rd September. All welcome.
Youth Gather, Essex Outdoors, East Mersea, 26th – 27th October: For anyone in year 9 and above, join us for a weekend of speakers, workshops, prayer, the chance to try archery or climbing, socialise with friends old and new, and all while sharing in and celebrating our Catholic faith. September 2025 intake – Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School tour: Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School are holding their school tours for prospective parents on Thursday, 17th October at 10am, Tuesday, 22nd October at 2pm and Thursday, 7th November at 10am. Places are limited so please telephone the school office on 01245 353755 to book the tour.

New Altar Servers at Holy Name: We would be delighted to welcome any children who have made their First Holy Communion and would like to altar serve at Holy Name. If you would like to serve at the 6pm Mass: please arrive at 5.40pm on Saturday 28th September and meet Susannah near the Sacristy. If you would to serve at the 10.45am Mass: please arrive at 10.20am on Sunday 29th September and meet Claire near the Sacristy. Please wear black school shoes and have long hair tied back and plain clothing as bold patterns show through the alb. If you have any questions please speak to Susannah, Claire, a priest or the parish office. It would be helpful if you could give your child's name in advance so that we can get albs ready.

SVP Chelmsford Fundraising: Step Up Your Style For Less-Expert Tips on restyling your home on a budget: A fun, friendly interactive fundraising event to on Saturday 12th of October at 11.15am in Our Lady Immaculate Church Hall. Entrance £8.00. All proceeds go to the Brentwood Vinnie Summer Camp 2025, which offers the opportunity of a short holiday packed with fun activities and friendship to boys and girls who may well be in need of a break because of family problems such as unemployment, illness, bereavement or relationship breakdown. From Noreen Hiom: I have received thank you letters from the British Heart Foundation and Farleigh Hospice regarding Tribute donations received in Mike's memory for which they are extremely grateful. A thank you also from myself and all the family for your support in every way . Mike (RIP) was very special and so are you, his Church family. Your kindness has been much appreciated by all of us.

PILGRIM STATUE OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA HOME VISITATION: The Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima is available for home visitation from October – December. Please pick up the signup form for home visitation from Adline in the repository after the 9am Mass or from Sophia after the 12 noon Mass at Our Lady Immaculate church on Sundays, and after the 10:30am Mass on Saturdays. If you have already picked up a form from the back of the church, please return it to Adline or Sophia. May Our Lady of Fatima pray for us.

OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP DEVOTIONS: will be held immediately following the 10:30am Mass on Saturday, 28 September at Our Lady Immaculate church. All are very welcome.

CANONESSES OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE TALK We need to talk about gender – 8th October at 7pm – at New HalL: We are thrilled to begin a second year of our series ‘Today’s Big Questions: towards a Christian Response’ with an in-person talk by Prof Tina Beattie (Christian theologian, writer and broadcaster). Tina will address us on the challenging topic of gender and will guide our discussions. The talk will take place at New Hall on what will be the 382nd anniversary of the Foundation of our Community. Retreat Manager at Walsingham House: Walsingham House is an integral part of the youth ministry in our diocese. They are seeking to appoint a Retreat Manager who can oversee the smooth running and delivery of retreats to our schools and parishes. QUIZ NIGHT 5th OCTOBER: Run by Chris and the Knights of St Columba at Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall, Melbourne Avenue. £5 a ticket, children free. Bring Friends and family and make a table of 8 or sign up for a table of 8 and make new friends.
