LINKED PARISHES CHRISTMAS FAYRE – SUNDAY 24th NOVEMBER: We are continuing collecting items suitable for sale at our forthcoming Christmas Fayre. Donations of toiletries, new items, bric a brac, jewellery, bottles for the bottle stall, toys, and Christmas foods etc. All donations very much appreciated and can be left in the boxes available at the back of our churches. Thank you in advance for supporting this very enjoyable event, which raises much needed funds for the Parishes. For any enquiries and offers of help, please contact Anne on (01245) 257463.


Christmas Draw tickets:
Just a reminder that sold Christmas draw ticket counterfoils can be put in an envelope with the money and placed in the Sunday Mass collection basket or left at the parish office. If you could return any unsold tickets we can then resell them. Please try to sell as many as you can. All proceeds to our parishes. £300 first prize, large Christmas Hamper second prize and many more lovely prizes to be won. With many thanks.

Pilgrims of Hope 2025 across our Chelmsford Catholic Parish Partnership:
As we prepare for the Holy Year 2025 beginning on the 1st December our Parish focus in is Prayer. The next of our Parish talks is on Thursday 7th November at 7:30PM in St Augustine of Canterbury Church on "Prayer, a relationship of the heart."
September 2025 intake – Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School tour: Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School are holding their final school tour for prospective parents on Thursday 7th November at 10am. Places are limited so please telephone the school office on 01245 353755 to book onto the tour.

Alpha Course update:
Thank you to those who have registered an interest in the Alpha Marriage course. We have clarified some of the details so here is an update. It will be held in the Canon Wilson Hall at Holy Name church on Monday evenings, from 3rd March. It will start at 19.30, but it will be arranged so that those wishing to attend Mass at Holy Name can do so. It will also be run on a hybrid basis so that you can join on line. We want to offer this to as many people as will be able to enjoy and benefit from it. If you are interested, contact the Parish Office to let us know.

49 Club Holy Name:
For just £5 per month, you can select a choice of bonus ball for the National Lottery draw each Saturday evening – if your number is drawn as the bonus ball you win £20, and if there are no winners then the prize monies roll over to the following week. Where there are five Saturdays in a month the prize on the fifth Saturday is £100 !!!Winners since April are Anne Gardner, Pat and Diane O’Connor, Noreen Hiom, Greg Carvalho, Lynne Walker, Tamara Calthorpe, Moreen Healy, Tom Browne, Bernard Mayo and Fionnuala Long.

NOVEMBER LISTS OF THE DEAD:
During the month of November, Masses are offered for the repose of the souls whose names are placed on the sanctuary during the month of November. Envelopes and lists are available at the back of the churches, please return to a Priest, Sacristan or Parish office.

The Parishioner Magazine: Our next edition of the The Parishioner Parish magazine comes out on Christmas day. We would be very grateful for any contributions you might like to make, especially items of parish news, from yourself, our schools, parish organisations or any suitable articles, obituaries etc. All articles should be with the editor at theparishioner@hotmail.co.uk by the 17th November. PROCLAIM THE WORD: A SERIES OF TALKS FOR READERS/LECTORS:
Fr Adrian Graffy, Scripture scholar and member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, will be giving the first talk in a series planned for readers/lectors. This first talk, entitled ‘He stood up to read (Lk 4:16), will survey how the ministry of reader has developed from the New Testament to the institution of readers at Vatican II. The talk will take place on Wednesday 27th November at 7 pm (refreshments from 6.30) at the hall of the Catholic Church of Christ the Eternal High Priest, 410 Brentwood Road, Gidea Park, RM2 6DH. Entrance is free, and the talk will also be available on-line at www.whatgoodnews.org

YOUTH MASS BRENTWOOD CATHEDRAL:
This Thursday from 6pm join the BCYS to celebrate Youth Mass with other young Catholics from all around the Diocese. There will be pizza in the Parish Hall from 6pm, with speakers, workshops, prayer and worship. The Mass is then celebrated in the Cathedral at 7:30pm. If you would like support with transport to attend the Mass please contact the Parish office.

TUESDAY CLUB INVITE TO ALL:
Looking for lively conversation, fellowship and a plentiful spread refreshments?Come to Tuesday club in the Parish Hall at 1pm in the Hall directly behind the Church after the 12:30pm Mass. All are warmly invited to join us, we are here every week.

THE SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY:
provides practical support where possible for those who need it. Are you, in need of help, or know someone who is? If so, contact us on 0207 7033030, 07936 579230 or via the Parish Office. HOSPITAL AND SICK VISITS:
If you or a member of your family go into hospital, or are sick and housebound, please inform the Parish Office so a priest or the Legion of Mary can visit you.
