Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham Saturday 24th May
Dear Parishioners,
I warmly invite you to join our Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham on Saturday, 24th May 2025—a special opportunity for prayer, fellowship, and renewal. Bishop Alan has asked that this be the main diocesan celebration for the Jubilee Year of Hope. One of the Masses of Hope, recently published by the Holy See, will be celebrated at the Shrine during the day.
Coaches will depart from:
- Our Lady Immaculate Church at 7:00am
- St Augustine of Canterbury Church at 7:20am (parking available)
- We will leave Walsingham at 4:30pm.
The day includes:
- Mass at the Shrine
- Opportunity for confession
- Prayer and quiet time at the Shrine
- Time to explore the village of Walsingham
- Opportunity to walk the Holy Mile
Please bring a packed lunch, as the Shrine cafeteria cannot accommodate the full number of pilgrims. For those with mobility needs (wheelchairs, prams, pushchairs, etc.), coach transport will be available from the Shrine to the village, and a minibus will take you to the Abbey grounds—no one should feel discouraged from taking part.
To book, please complete the slip attached and return it to the parish office, along with £20 per person - cash or cheque payable to “Our Lady Immaculate Church”.
I look forward to sharing this beautiful pilgrimage with you.
Prayerful best wishes,
Fr Martin
